Day 2

Well this weekend hasn't been so productive.  I got super yucky feeling on Saturday and spent all day Sunday in bed.  I also inadvertendly closed a flipchart I've been working on without saving it-duh, not cool.  Anyway, it should be easy to replicate I hope.  Next week we start a new unit, and I get to teach again thanks to AIMS web testing being finished FINALLY! 

Day 1

Well, I've decided to start blogging about my awesome experiences as a first grade teacher.  This will hopefully give me an outlet to let out my joys, frustrations, and in general gush about school without boring my poor husband and kids who are supportive, but really don't want to hear it all the time.  :) 

Today I uploaded a flipchart to www.teacherspayteachers.com.   I need to figure out a way to get a JPeg file from them to give a preview.  It is free, so if you are reading this go check it out.  It is a sight word game called "Bang" using the Treasures series unit 4 words.  The kids can click on a box  and if they know the word they can keep going.  If they don't know it, they cover it back up and lose their turn.  If they uncover the word bang, then they lose their turn.  My kiddos love this game.  Hopefully it will help them remember the words before I have to benchmark them again!
